Tucker goes there

Mr. Carlson is on the downward spiral. He will try to book more and more outrageous guests to try and keep his name in the news.
(And before anyone says that he got XX million views on his show, does anyone think he has the same influence as when he was on Fox?)

Not a fan of Tucker's new show, so far, but I consistently enjoy him in freeform interviews on other people's shows. Just saw this yesterday:

Good question. Maybe with Trump as a running mate hopeful in the ‘24 election. Beyond that, Carlson does seem to influence and impress Russian state media.

People are always talking about the fall of western civilisation. Does it ever occur to them that picking people like Trump and Carlson is a further symptom of it, and not a potential cure?

Such complex abstract reflection is well beyond the capacity of the populist culture mentality.

@Horace said in Tucker goes there:
"Your tribe is actually bad" is not exactly a complex abstraction.
Looking in the mirror occasionally probably wouldn't hurt. I can see the lefties are a bunch of morons.
The idea that Trump and Carlson a solution to the world's ills rather than a couple of shameless grifters is hard to sustain, and yet somehow people manage it.
And I'm not talking about your Tribe - i.e. conservatives. I'm talking about Donald Trump and Tucker Carlson. Two individuals who really shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the levers of power for reasons that should be obvious to anybody.
People have dismissed my opinions on these two by saying that I suffer from a delusion, but honestly, is it really me that's delusional here?

I don't think so. I think Trump or Tucker would be categorically terrible for the country. But I'm still trying to figure whether Biden's worse in terms of everything, including practical consequences.

No, in their individual hearts they honestly believe Trump is the American Moses and cannot conceive that anyone could think otherwise.

Trump wouldn’t choose someone like Carlson who could compete for the spotlight.
That might also keep him from choosing Kari Lake.
It’s also something Tim Scott has in his favor. He would help Trump peel off more of the black vote, especially black males, and also not a guy who’s going to steal the spotlight.

If Mr. Biden has taught us anything, it is that it doesn't matter if the president is senile and barely able to function.
That opens up the field to a lot of new candidates.
Mr. Trump could select any number of very popular people that would guarantee his election. Mr. Manchin is an obvious choice.
Bruce Willis is a well known conservative and he should also attract the Biden voters.
