Anyone get the feeling that every sort of media preaches to the choir now. I got big into podcasts a few years ago - and topics felt exciting because it felt like there were really well-thought out counter-mainstream perspectives out there.
No one talks to each other though - all of this is yelling into some sort of void. Not a ground breaking insight, I know. Just had a feeling of, "you're right, but who cares", listening to this.
But agree, great episode.

We run up against the impossibility of proving a cultural perspective with facts and logic. Sam didn't lie or stretch any truths in that monologue, but neither did he prove anything about how we should all feel about Israel/Palestine. People on the opposite side can produce a bunch of truths in support of their perspective too. There are rarely factual disagreements underlying these cultural issues. Maybe there's an objective way to measure how correct each side is, but if there is, humans don't reliably employ it to make their judgments.
