Has a director who hales from the Pittsburgh area.

Went to their Christmas Pops show yesterday. They had a nice performance.

For Christmas, they do an outreach with high school state honor students (string, brass and woodwinds). Kids who wish to play, audition. If they make the cut, they are assigned a professional musician as a mentor for the concert. For the kids, it's a big deal.

The local symphony also does a conductor residency with a grad student. Last year, the young man was from LSU. That led to a job as conductor of several student groups at Cornell.

Been kind of a nice late fall/early winter. We've had the organist from Westminster, the local symphony and the Drumline show will be here next week.

Good music, at least here in the hinterlands ...🙂
