It sounds like they know their math a little better than you perhaps? An hour long lesson is not simply twice the amount of work. An hour long lesson will be 3 to 4 times the amount of work of a half hour lesson. Now they are having to curate the repertoire for each and every lesson, they are having to listen to, and watch recordings of the students in the middle of the week, they’re helping them to prepare for festivals and competitions, and have to spend more time in keeping the students focus and interest.

As far as George’s post, it’s likely a typo. They probably meant to hit $29 and accidentally hit $39 and didn’t catch it. But, they may have the reasoning, and it may be very good reason.
