"My cousin..."
-
I've sold a few things on FB Marketplace.
There are some things that come across as obvious scams.
- no negotiation of price (I always price high, and negotiate down)
- immediate interest
- "Can I send cash via Zelle..."
But there's one which I don't understand.
" I won't be able to pick it up or meet up because of my working hours but I can send one of my cousin to help me pick it up tomorrow ."
It's always a cousin, friend, spouse or offspring.
Why?
I don't get it.

Just tell them you’ll send your cousins, Vito and Tony, to finalize the transaction.
They’ll get it.

@George-K I thought Zelle was pretty safe. What is the scam there?

"When are around so my husband can come grab it"
"What’s your address so I will have my cousin come pick it up by 4:pm,
I will make the payment now using Zelle so you can mark it as sold on your listing."
Sounds good, so my assistant will come over to pick it up herself because I’m not available to do that for now due to my condition and I’m out of town but my assistant stays closer to you so she will come over to pick it
These are typical messages I've gotten.
They all want to pay via Zelle.
