    https://www.theguardian.com/food/2023/nov/18/rare-1926-macallan-whisky-becomes-worlds-most-expensive-bottle-at-21m

The record for the world’s most expensive bottle of whisky has been broken after a bottle of Macallan 1926 went for £2.1m at a Sotheby’s auction in London.

The sale set a new record for any bottle of spirit or wine sold at auction, the auction house told the AFP news agency.

The rare bottle had been expected to raise between £750,000 and £1.2m but surpassed estimates to fetch £2,187,500 on Saturday.

I don't understand this. At all.

Toys bought for inconsequential amounts of money, what's not to understand? To whomever bought it, that amount is almost certainly inconsequential. It begins to be crazy as the amount becomes consequential.

      Education is extremely important.

At some point the amount means nothing. It's just whether you really want it or not. Who knows? He might use this bottle to seal a $500 million dollar deal.

It may not be for drinking, chances are it's for investing

I don't either, but I think it is like the others said. Super rich people spending on toys.

If the buyer is 1MM times more rich than I am, than this purchase was like me buying something for 2.2 pounds.

It is an atmosphere I will never reach.
