        Why not?

This is lawfare with deep, deep pockets.

        Let's go to MAD.

It seems like a really really really goofy idea that has no chance of happening.

Why not funds for John Doe, who claims he is unfairly being prosecuted by the federal government for smuggling 50kg of cocaine. He is a Florida resident and and a fine citizen and subject to a witch hunt, at least according to him.

We have entered an age of lawfare. Lawfare is not justice. Lawfare is conviction by economics.

Either restrain the government's resources to a reasonable level, enact loser pays or make it much, much easier to sue the government for harassment or unlawful conviction. Level the courtroom field a bit.

Or maybe start voting for non-criminals? Just a thought.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

With all the anti-American crap being fed to each successive generation, it is getting harder and harder to find decent people to run for public office. All we have left are egocentric idiots that go into politics to get rich.

It is just a bad precedent. Should the public pay for Rep. Santos defense? Sen. Menendez? President Trump? President Biden?

Who is to say which are "unfair" lawsuits and which are not?

Should the government violate every tenant of a fair trial by ensuring they bankrupt the defender and impoverish his family, in order to achieve a plea bargain or conviction due to inadequate defense?

But you didn't answer my question. According to Sen. Menendez, it is a witch hunt because he is Cuban. According to politician X, it is a witch hunt because he is Y.

Who decides? Why is some public official in Florida better knoweldgable about the President Trump trials than anybody else? If President Biden is brought on trial, everybody from the "other side" will say it is a witch hunt. Should the same public official offer to pay?

If my side is on trial, it is unjust. If the other side it on trial, it is a righteous trial.

Think bigger. Think concept. Start with the basic right of anybody to be tried fairly.

You're so hung up on your rail riding through political tribes, you don't see the overreach of the government and the abrogation of a basic right.
