Those who were against the lockdowns in the fog of war way back when, can lay claim to having been right, within the uncertainty. Prevention of hospital overruns was the only good motivation in hindsight, and the lockdowns were imposed beyond that need. As far as the abundance of caution being the only conscionable choice, we have Sweden to establish that it wasn't. "I told you so"s are of course useless, but maybe we can turn down the self righteousness just a notch next time we have public discussion about this sort of thing. (Of course we won't. The people terrified of dying will still be full bore indignant that the world isn't as terrified of them dying as they are.)
