Mistake? Rather brilliant, I should think.

So, @Mik, now that you've got your answer that cutting IRS funding will increase, rather than decrease, the deficit, and have had a bit of fun talking about turtles, let's get back to the original topic: the new Speaker proposing a Israel aid bill that (1) even some House Republicans will not vote for, (2) the Senate Republican monitory Leader does not think is a good idea, (3) are highly unlikely to become law, (4) has zero Democratic support thus in this sense entirely partisan, and (5) all while the current government funding CR will expire in a little over two weeks and the specter of "government shutdown" will rear its head again. How do you think this is going to end?
This looks to be a repeat of the House GOP Freedom Caucus aiming the barrel at its own foot again; might be "feel good" red meat for parts of the GOP base, but then what?

Good luck explaining to the American people that cutting the IRS budget and spending less money will cost money.
Mind if I sit and watch while you do that?

“Cutting IRS budget will lead to having fewer tax cops meant to catch rich people who cheat on their taxes; the loss of tax money from that will far exceed the cost of keeping the tax cops working.”

Zero.
Now that you’ve got your ad hominem in, see if you can address the issue.

I’ve already stated my opinion. New deficit spending must be tied directly to an equivalent cut. As the $14 Billion is only ~ 17% of the additional IRS funding, so they will still have plenty of money to go over all of your $600 Venmo payments…

CBO estimates that portions of the Administration’s proposal to increase funding for the IRS by $80 billion over the 2022–2031 period would increase revenues by approximately $200 billion over those 10 years.

Interview with Rep. Norman (R-SC) regarding the aid for Israel and same amount cut for IRS. The CBO "scoring" was brought up.
“I have very little confidence in the CBO,” Norman grumbled. “They have an agenda to back up whatever view the current administration has, so I don’t go with that.”
Oops, just this spring, his office put out a press release talking about the CBO backing his thoughts. If they agree with you, they are correct. If they disagree, they are wrong. 555
There was a jaw dropping report yesterday from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). They issued a very alarming update which reaffirms what I’ve been saying about our out-of-control spending and national debt.
