Shouldn't religious freedom work both ways? If religious people can choose not to hire non-believers, why can't non-believers choose not to hire religious people?

I'm thinking of starting up a non-prophet bakery. We will only cater to events that eschew any connection to religion. So Church of England weddings and Halloween, basically.

So how does this lend itself to the establishment of a meritocracy in hiring?
It doesn’t. Reminds me of the discriminatory hiring practices of the public funded Catholic School Boards in this province. I really don’t understand how they get away with it, but they do.

They can, but they'd be breaking the law. It would be a very foolish interviewer who asked a candidate about their religious beliefs.
