“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

Our first dog, Oscar, was a pug. We got him in, I think, 1982.

Good dog, overall, despite having "flat face" problems. His upper eyelids were displaced so that his lashes were rubbing against his corneas - he needed an upper blepharoplasty to fix that.

However, he never had the associated respiratory problems that one sees with the breed these days.

I couldn't find a good picture of him in profile, but this will give you a sense of his physiognomy.

The current crop of pugs is a sad caricature of what Oscar was.

      Pathetic, sad, and just wrong.

As, I believe, @LuFins-Dad said, German Shepherds have been ruined here in the states.

Get a mutt. They live longer, and have better temperaments.

"Now look here, you Baltic gas passer... " - Mik, 6/14/08

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

German Shepherds and Golden Retrievers (as well as a number of other breeds).
