I am more than content with tenting. It’s amazing how much camping comfort you can load into the box and onto the roof of a Nissan Frontier Pro4X.

We had the largest Coleman tent trailer for the 4 of us, pulled by my decked-out conversion van. We could set up in under half an hour, and then could go sightseeing anywhere we wanted with the van. I still have the van. Great memories of the camping years.

@LuFins-Dad yup - we've considered it.
A nice one would be to take The Empire Builder to St. Paul for an overnight. Then cruise down the Mississippi to New Orleans, and catch CONO back home.
But...that gets REAL pricey real fast.
American Cruise Lines is a bit cheaper:
With Mrs. George's arthritis being so problematic (she's looking at getting her other hip done, and her spine is no-fucking-good), walking tours, etc are out of the question for her. I think she'd be pissed if I left her on the boat so I could wander around.
