    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/oct/13/alabama-pregnant-woman-jail-lawsuit

The rough outline of the article: a certain county in Alabama has a high rate of jailing pregnant women who were charged with the crime of "endangering their pregnancies" (e.g., exposing their fetuses to chemicals like marijuana or other substances), but then after the pregnant women are put in jail, the "healthcare" provided to these pregnant women were so appallingly lacking that the pregnancies were truly endangered, with many examples of women suffering loss of pregnancies or giving birth in the county jail under harrowing conditions.

After opening the thread I know u meant endangering in the title but I spent a few moments trying to understand how you engender pregnancies.

Why is it a crime to endanger a pregnancy but not to have an abortion? :man-shrugging:

As far as the fetus is concerned, that’s pretty dangerous.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Until your patient population includes pregnant women shooting up in their breast veins with dirty needles, I'll pass on the engendering observation...

Please re-edit the title back to the original.

            Thank you.
