My wife had a TEE done yesterday. As she's in the back, the electrophysiologist is chatting up the anesthesiologist, raising cane about Biden and some of his policies.
The anesthesiologist told Harry (the doc doing the procedure), he didn't think Biden was that bad.
My wife wasn't under yet, so she looked at the gaspasser and I quote:
If you think Joe Biden is doing a good job, I don't want a doctor that stupid working on me.
A good laugh was had by all. And the anesthesiologist told her he was just yanking Harry's chain....

At least it was explained as a gag so everyone got it.
I never, ever, discussed politics with a patient. As a matter of fact, with some exceptions, we rarely discussed politics in the OR either....at least as far as opinions go.
"Who do you think is going to win..." was about as involved as it got.
