Hamas attacks Israel

It’s a war, a war between Hamas and Israel in which Hamas fired the first shot in aggression. Israel is defending itself.
Not sure if you’ll find many parallels, Hamas is not a sovereign state and nor is there a recognised Palestinian state. In that sense it’s sort of like a civil war (which it is not) and sort of like, what Putin has called, a special military operation, but a purely defensive and justifiable SMO and one with a clearly defined objective - the annihilation of Hamas as a criminal and para military terrorist organisation. But on second thought it’s not an SMO either.
So for now let’s settle with; it’s a war. Much more to the point.

The very act of destroying Hamas creates Hamas. I’d call it a Hydra, but it’s much more insidious than that.

On Bari Weiss’s podcast she interviewed a mom whose 12 and 16 year olds were abducted.
It’s hard to listen to.
I’m sure it is. Think I’ll skip that one.

LD, you can’t reason with fanatics, they must be annihilated. A major part of the hydra is made up of fanatics, Islamic fanatics at that.
I don’t disagree. I just think that direction will have to go much farther than what I believe most westerners will ever accept.

"And elsewhere."

Bolivia, China, Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, France, Gabon, Malawi, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Russian Federation, Senegal, Ukraine, United Kingdom and Uzbekistan. LOL
Malawi still has witch trials. Literally.

Other than Malawi having witch trials, why LOL?

China still utilizes slave labor. Russia has committed countless war crimes in the invasion of Ukraine, and assassination is still a preferred political strategy. The military in the Ivory Coast still regularly torture and rape their own citizens. Senegal is a little better, but not much. And do I even need to talk about the UK?
