I've decided about a week back that I'm going to re-watch the X-Files. And then probably re-re-watch them. Etc.

But it's the order that's going to be the most fun.

Right now I'm watching every single Lone Gunmen episode in order.

Next up it'll be Mulder's sister's story arc.

Staying constructive with meaningful tasks during these uncertain times is very important.

    Please love yourself.

That's a good idea. Maybe marred slightly if you already know the resolution either sucks or is non-existent.

Yeah, I stopped watching once they changed the cast. No need to continue on past that point.

I have only watched a couple of the shows. Thought it was interesting but a bit creepy!

For a first time watcher, is it best to just go in order?

Yeah, in order's the best way to go.

What really strikes me about the show now is that it was absolutely a TV 1.0 kind of show: completely episodic (each episode stands alone), and still a ton of holdover from when TV was still thought of as an extension of theatre: the way the lines are delivered with a clean back and forth (like theatre dialogue, not at all like how conversations actually go), lighting and props used to evoke a mood, not to really adhere to reality.

            Please love yourself.

What in the actual hell, man.

Watch some episodes. They're completely a mixed bag, but some are just excellent.

Remember Wormtongue from Lord of the Rings? His X-Files episode is amazing. He was an incredible actor even back then.

                  Please love yourself.

Back in the day, my not-yet-husband and I had this routine every Friday. Buy booze. Eat dinner. Watch X-Files. Drive 6 hours to Mammoth Mountain. Drink booze. Sleep. Ski for 2 days. Drive back home. We did that for 2 seasons, from February to July.

I lost interest once Mulder left, but my husband kept watching. He even watched the rebooted (is that the right word?) version. They had some great stories on that show, but one I absolutely refuse to re-watch is that "Home" episode.

That is an all-around badass routine.

Yeah, I've seen nothing post-Mulder and don't intend to. And a lot of the episodes are hit-and-miss but that's what makes them kinda fun now, watching them again.

My uncle and grandmother were into the show, too, so for holidays when we all got together, whoever was around would watch on the Fridays we got into town.

                            Please love yourself.
