One day Before Trump
-
Biden did not announce any plans to meet with UAW workers until a few days after Trump said he would be meeting with them.
What a cowinky-dink.
-
LOL That is a surprise! Politicians doing stupid things!!
ANd in other news, President Trump did not announce his visit until he knew for sure that date of the 2nd debate.
-
So, @Jolly, what do you expect Trump to say? Do you expect Trump to support the union, support the strike?

@Jolly, I expect Biden to give a passionate speech supporting the workers’ right to unionize and collectively bargain for better pay and benefits.

I, for one, have had enough of his "passion" for about a decade.

Maybe rather than say something, he might try to mediate?
And maybe, just maybe, a President or Candidate should not take sides publicly in a labor dispute that they may need to help negotiate?
Just a thought.

Has Trump been asked to mediate? Should Trump just butt in to mediate without invitation?

Non sequitur.

Trump gave a speech in Clinton, Michigan, but ...
- Not union ... Speech took place at a non-union shop
- Fake audience ... "One individual in the crowd who held a sign that said "union members for Trump," acknowledged that she wasn't a union member when approached by a Detroit News reporter after the event. Another person with a sign that read "auto workers for Trump" said he wasn't an auto worker when asked for an interview." https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2023/09/27/donald-trump-returns-auto-industry-strike-uaw-ev-taking-center-stage-presidential-election-joe-biden/70960155007/
- Short on union workers ... "Though the focus of Trump’s event was on auto unions, it was unclear how many union members were there. Several of those who spoke with the Guardian said they were small business owners, or work for small businesses, ..." https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/sep/27/donald-trump-michigan-rally-supporters

I remember in Taiwan, there was always talk about busing in "supporters" of a candidate, giving them a few $NT and a free meal to cheer and "support" the candidate. I am sure that probably some people attended multiple rallies for different candidates.
