From this morning's CNN headlines: C-SPAN tweeted AOC's remarks on the House floor, and "it became the most retweeted post ever sent by the network. Within the tweet's first 24 hours, it has been retweeted more than 95,000 times and has more than 220,000 likes.

"It's no exaggeration to say that, aside from Barack Obama . . . there is no current member of the Democratic Party with more ability to influence the national conversation than AOC. Not even Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee."

You don't suppose Biden would turn his eye to teh Icon, do you? Oh god. An old man as prez with AOC as his successor . . .

I think I'm going to scream. Probably more than once.

Whether the guy was on the house floor or in the hallway seems to be the least relevant detail here.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

No, she's not qualified. I mean literally, per the constitution. She's too young.

I got to read her floor speech. It wasn't bad actually, especially for her. But it had no place on the floor of the United States Congress.

We would know that if we could see her birth certificate.

I watched her speech. First, she talked about how tough she was, how she worked at a working lass job, rode the subway, etc. I especially liked the part where she declared proudly that she walked the streets of New York. I agree, a New York City streetwalker has to be tough.

Then, she finished it out in an absolute whine fest, cloaked in indignation and righteous anger.

A Christian nonprofit organization that fights world hunger asked Rep. Ted Yoho (R-Fla.) to resign from its board after he confronted a female colleague and then reportedly used a sexist expletive after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) was out of earshot.

Bread for the World announced Yoho’s resignation in a statement on Saturday, saying that his “recent actions and words as reported in the media are not reflective of the ethical standards expected of members of our Board of Directors.”

He gives us brief glimpses of truth and wisdom, but then when we seek it directly through questions, he withholds. Perhaps he is not so much a refreshing oasis, but a mirage, drawing us to knowledge but leaving us bewildered and frustrated.

                              Education is extremely important.

                                Here's what I speculate happened.

                                Firstly, it has no importance.

We will never know what Yoho said, whether "fucking bitch" or "fucking BS". I never heard of Yoho before this and have no idea how smart he is, but he was stupid to have said anything at all. He should have known better. So that's a dead end.

The significance arises when we get to AOC's response. I think she has far-reaching political ambition (shudder), and she saw an opportunity to get in front of the camera -- something she has never been shy about. Maybe she heard Yoho, maybe she didn't, maybe she heard him correctly and maybe she didn't, but she made a little political hay while the sun shone.

I also am doubtful that she wrote that speech herself. Maybe massaged it a little.

Possibly Yoho did say "fucking bitch" and his handlers, recognizing that he severely risked great damage to himself by trashing a media darling, threw him a rope with the claim that he said "BS." Didn't fly with that Christian outfit, but them's the breaks. Maybe next time he'll be more discreet.

This is all speculative. But AOC's insane popularity on the social media makes anything she does a big deal.
