@jon-nyc said in The Sad Cognitive Decline of a President:

“You take a look at bacon and some of these products and some people don’t eat bacon anymore. We are going to get the energy prices down. When we get energy down, you know, this was caused by their horrible energy—wind, they want wind all over the place. But when it doesn’t blow we have a little problem. This was caused by energy. This was really caused by energy, and also their unbelievable spending. They are spending us out of wealth, actually, they’re taking our wealth away, but it was caused by energy.”

I think he's hoping to harvest the methane from pigs that aren't being turned into bacon to create sustainable energy.

He’s just pissed that Biden kicked his ass on oil and gas production so he creates a world in his head where that didn’t happen. And bacon.

@Jolly Well, it has been shown that oil production is up 20% since the start of the President Biden president. The US is a market economy so not sure how he will make energy cheaper. Coal is on a downward path that will be pretty hard to recover from. Maybe he is going to "embrace" the Green Deal!!

              Yes.

But that's as bogus as saying Biden "created" 15 million jobs.

Now compare it to what it was like before the COVID dip. Higher, but not 20%.

What President Trump did just continued on the trend of President Obama.

This whole things just reinforce my opinion about presidents claiming too much credit and getting too much blame. You can't have it both ways. Who was president in Nov 2016? What was oil production?

It can be argued (and I would strongly agree) that the decrease in oil production was not because of President Trump. But................ (generic) you can't turn around and say that inflation, higher interest rates is strictly President Biden fault.

I know if makes good politics (for both oil production and inflation), but its not true.

I personally think Trump has a good chance of winning in November, however I think it's fair to say that you have a long history of over-estimating the Republican candidate's chances.

Admittedly, not as bad as Larry, God bless him, who memorably congratulated President Romney on his election victory.

Q: If you win in November, can you commit to prioritizing legislation to make childcare affordable, and, if so, what specific piece of legislation will you advance?

A: Well, I would do that, and we’re sitting down — you know, I was, somebody — we had Senator Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka was so impactful on that issue. It’s a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about, that — because the childcare is childcare — there’s something, you have to have it in this country. You have to have it. But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I’m talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they’re not used to — but they’ll get used to it very quickly — and it’s not going to stop them from doing business with us; but they’ll have a very substantial tax when they send product into our country. Those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers that we’re talking about, including childcare, that it’s going to take care — we’re going to have, I look forward to having no deficits within a fairly short period of time, coupled with the reductions that I told you about on waste and fraud and all of the other things that are going on in our country because I have to stay with childcare. I want to stay with childcare. But those numbers are small relative to the kind of economic numbers that I’m talking about — including growth — but growth also headed up by what the plan is that I just told you about. We’re going to be taking in trillions of dollars. And as much as childcare is talked about as being expensive, it’s, relatively speaking, not very expensive compared to the kind of numbers we’ll be taking in. We’re going to make this into an incredible country that can afford to take care of its people, and then we’ll worry about the rest of the world. Let’s help other people, but we’re going to take care of our country first. This is about America first. It’s about “Make America Great Again.” We have to do it because right now we’re a failing nation, so we’ll take care of it. Thank you.

And we will never know whether it's cognitive decline or chronic moronity that prevents him from articulating this intelligibly.

It was articulated quite well, when I heard it.

Trump and Vance are out there campaigning. They're talking to just about anybody that will listen. They're doing town halls, doing pressers, doing interviews, holding campaign rallies.

I admit, I like a good mess of collard greens as well as the next person. With just a few drops of jalapeno sauce, hot cornbread and cold milk...It's pretty good eating.

Don't know how that equates with being the Leader of the Free World, though.

And on second thought, who washes their collard greens in the bathtub? You wash them in a foot tub or a wash tub if you're outside, almost always in the kitchen sink if you're inside. I have seen people do them in a washing machine, but that's with enough greens that you're fixing to can greens and you're working in volume.
