The Sad Cognitive Decline of a President

“You take a look at bacon and some of these products and some people don’t eat bacon anymore. We are going to get the energy prices down. When we get energy down, you know, this was caused by their horrible energy—wind, they want wind all over the place. But when it doesn’t blow we have a little problem. This was caused by energy. This was really caused by energy, and also their unbelievable spending. They are spending us out of wealth, actually, they’re taking our wealth away, but it was caused by energy.”

So?
This is a constant theme of Trump.
Cheap energy + low taxes = hotter economy, which translates to a growth in real wages.
Is he wrong?

And bacon, apparently.

Well, maybe they can afford bacon. I suspect the bacon reference harkens back to his video where he was comparing grocery prices before and after Biden.

BTW, Trump and Vance have done 37 (combined) interviews vs. Kamala and Walz one (combined).
Remember when Trump never used to do press conferences when he was in office?

@Jolly said in The Sad Cognitive Decline of a President:
No, I don't.
As of right now, does that matter?
In the grand scheme of things, does any of this really matter? The universe if 13 billion years old, mankind has been here 300,000 years. Even at his admittedly advanced age, he hasn't seen much of it, and four more years of Donald Trump, whilst annoying and unpleasant, is likely to be a lot less important than both he and others would have us believe.

I think he's hoping to harvest the methane from pigs that aren't being turned into bacon to create sustainable energy.

He’s just pissed that Biden kicked his ass on oil and gas production so he creates a world in his head where that didn’t happen. And bacon.

Think I already did.

@Jolly Well, it has been shown that oil production is up 20% since the start of the President Biden president. The US is a market economy so not sure how he will make energy cheaper. Coal is on a downward path that will be pretty hard to recover from. Maybe he is going to "embrace" the Green Deal!!

Yes.
But that's as bogus as saying Biden "created" 15 million jobs.
Now compare it to what it was like before the COVID dip. Higher, but not 20%.

In Jan 2020, it was 398,392. The highest during the last 4 years is 412,547.

What President Trump did just continued on the trend of President Obama.
This whole things just reinforce my opinion about presidents claiming too much credit and getting too much blame. You can't have it both ways. Who was president in Nov 2016? What was oil production?
It can be argued (and I would strongly agree) that the decrease in oil production was not because of President Trump. But................ (generic) you can't turn around and say that inflation, higher interest rates is strictly President Biden fault.
I know if makes good politics (for both oil production and inflation), but its not true.
