It is ok that Mr. Biden is demented because Mr. Trump is demented.

That argument apparently makes sense to a lot of people.

They’re both demented but in a manner peculiar to each and, very much of their own.

        Elbows up!

Yep. They're unique, just like everyone else.

Donald Trump is furiously attempting to sink a bipartisan border and immigration package that the Senate unveiled on Sunday — so much so that he’s outright lying about having endorsed the bill’s author, Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.).

During an interview on Monday with right-wing radio host Dan Bongino, the former president claimed that he had never endorsed Lankford, one of the chief architects and advocates for the legislation. “Just to correct the record, I did not endorse Senator Lankford, I didn’t do it,” Trump said. “He ran and I didn’t endorse him.”

Oops - poor guy. His memory and sharpness are just not there. Sad.

Shall we discuss Biden's recent meeting with the Prime Minister of Germany, Francois Mitterand?

I remain unconvinced that the response to 'One of our Presidential candidates is senile' being 'Yeah? Well so is the other one!' actually makes anything better.

Oops. Doesn't work that way. Maybe President Trump needs a lesson in how government works or maybe he is just confused.

Rep. Chip Roy (R) from Texas

"I saw former President Trump make that allegation earlier today on one of his social media posts. 'All the president has to do is declare the borders closed and it's closed.' Well, with all due respect, that didn't happen in 2017, 18, 19, and 20. There were millions of people who came into the United States during those four years."

                    Rep. Crenshaw (R) from Texas

"Why didn't Trump just shut down the border if you just think we don't need any changes to law?" Crenshaw asked.

Uh, Biden killed Trump's EO'S, walked away from any border wall, tried to put border agents in jail for simply riding a horse, and the list goes on.

Not to mention I remember the fight Trump had to implement any strengthening of the border.

To be brutally honest, if the Biden Administration would just enforce much of the border law on the books, the border could close tomorrow.

If you want your preferred party to run on the positive border record, that's a political fight the GOP would absolutely relish...

@Jolly You misinterpret my post. It was not about whether or not the border policy under President Trump/Biden was correct or incorrect. It was simply about President Trumps confusion on the ability of the President to act on his own to shut down the border.

Maybe he can do so, but there are at least two Republic congressmen who do not think so. Maybe they are wrong.

But as Jolly posted, Trump’s EOs had MOSTLY shut the border down.

The counter is that he did have trouble getting his desired bills through Congress, but that really is a separate issue. Trump essentially did shut the border without Congressional approval.

@Jolly remember, Congressional districts are apportioned by population of people, not citizens.

I am not sure what you mean? Do you mean the number that were allowed into the country ultimately?

Here is another graph showing "encounters" will illegal immigrants, which appears to be similar. The # of illegals detained or encountered by Border Patrol did not change much from President Obama to President Trump.

Say, @LuFins-Dad , what’s your preferred metric for border crossing, and what would constitute a passing grade using your preferred metric?

what’s your preferred metric for border crossing, and what would constitute a passing grade using your preferred metric?

The number of people crossing the border, legal and illegal.

                                          Illegal, zero
                                          Legal, whatever
