GM Chair and CEO Mary Barra’s compensation grew by 34 percent between 2019 and 2022, to $29 million last year.
Ford CEO Jim Farley’s pay grew by 21 percent over that period, to $21 million last year.
Stellantis, headquartered in the Netherlands and formed through a 2021 merger of Fiat Chrysler and France’s Peugeot SA, didn’t exist when the contract began. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares earned about $25 million last year, including long-term incentives.
Nobody is worth that kind of money. Nobody.

I've been saying that for decades, and I got accused of being jealous/communist/stupid.
Who do these people think they are, professional sportsmen?

Agree. And at the point, it is not the actual $'s that is important to those CEO's. It is the ego trip I believe.
So, when a company says, "we need to pay this in order to ensure we get the best talent...." Ummm, I don't think so.

There's a story that when Bill Ford Jnr. took over as CEO of Ford, he reviewed his highest paid employees, and found that the second highest paid employee in the organization was somebody named Edmund Irvine. "Who the hell is this guy?", Ford asked. They investigated, and it transpired that the well-heeled Mr. Irvine was a smooth-talking Irish racing driver who had left Ferrari and somehow managed to negotiate a ridiculously high salary with the racing team that Ford had bought from Jackie Stewart, and renamed 'Jaguar'.
It's fair to say that Eddie wasn't worth the money, but was a better investor than he was a driver.

Ford Loses Nearly $60,000 for Every Electric Vehicle Sold
Imagine how much Mr. Farley would make if Ford could break even.
