My argument would be politics is politics and EVERY administration since George Washington's has leaned on the press one way or another, or maybe strayed into a First Amendment violation.

The difference with the current Resident, is the breadth and force used, along with a willing press.

So yes. That is your argument. They didn’t violate the Constitution as badly as Biden…

I am simply flabbergasted by the pass Trump fans give the guy.

I have to admit ignorance of when Trump did something similar. Can you enlighten me?

I do acknowledge that administrations have asked the press to sit on stories for national security. I’m not sure they have tried to stifle a citizen’s right to speak.

No, it's not a pass. It is an observation and an admittance of reality. There's plenty of things Trump did wrong. Some worse than others. But I look at politics as the art of the possible and as anything over 50% of what I consider good for the country a win.

By their very nature, politicians are lying souls. And even if they aren't - which is a rare thing indeed - they'll never do everything you wish them to do.

I think you're going to have a hard choice in '24. I think Trump will be the GOP nomineee. You can choose to vote for him or not. I will, because with all of his faults, I'm going to get more of what I want from him, than the person from the other party.

I have a very strong belief that if Trump is the nominee, January 6th will not compare with what happens next, regardless of who wins in November 2024…

I'm not so sure...I think some of the steam may be gone. But...If it leads to meaningful election reform, let the riots begin.

As George wrote recently, day of, with ID and leave the polling place with a blue thumb. That's the ideal.

I think it will be fine regardless of who wins in 2024. Worst case, some idiots will go to prison again. I do not fear in the least for our democracy.

I hate to agree with Horace, but I agree with Horace. I think there's a lot to be gained by constantly saying we're on the verge of civil war. Normal people aren't interested in that from what I can tell. There's a guy that cycles a bike around where I work with 'FUCK JOE BIDEN' on a flag, but you know, he really doesn't look as though he's washed since Biden got elected, so I think he's got bigger problems.

No, when it starts, it will be like Fort Sumter. Serious stuff leading up to it, then BOOM.

Who said civil wars? I can see a serious riots, ramped up higher than a few years ago. I can see more serious assassination attempts. I can see the last 8 years but 30-40% worse.

                                So what happens at 30-40%.

                                No more president?

                                No more income tax?

No more military or police, defund the whole thing.

Males of European descent will be sent back to Europe.
