Canadian shenanigans in education

Omnibus bills are something we learned from US republocrats; put together legislation which is ostensibly about one thing but throw in a host of add ons that have little or nothing to do with the primary purpose of the legislation. Unfortunately increasingly common up here federally and provincially ever since the Harper era. In any case this particular stinker is brought to the people of Ontario by its Conservative government. Has no authority outside of Ontario. Education here is strictly a provincial jurisdiction, Federal gov't has no say or constitutional jurisdiction whatsoever. There is no Federal Dept. of Education.

It's kind of ironic when you considered how the Canadian government started.
"A fourth basic difference between the American and Canadian systems is in the type of federalism they embody. The American system was originally highly decentralized.
