Maholmes didn’t look great last night. I know there’s a lot talk today about the drops by the receivers, but there were a LOT of ducks on the intermediate/long throws. Either air mailed or dropping well short. I’m really wondering if Kelce and Tyreek Hill were really the spoons that stirred that sauce?

Yes they do. I'm hoping ours is better this year. Burrow still got hit way too many times last year.

How do you feel about his payday? I get it, QB is the most important position, but man…Between that contract and Chase’s it makes it really hard to keep the other positions at the level you would like…

I think you're going to run into what happened to the Saints and some other teams. When the Saints paid Brees, it didn't leave a lot of money for much else. And that stuff echoes on for years.

I think you're going to run into what happened to the Saints and some other teams. When the Saints paid Brees, it didn't leave a lot of money for much else. And that stuff echoes on for years.

That’s maybe the smartest play by Brady… He left $4-$5 Million on the table every year so they could sign the complimentary pieces. He more than made that back In endorsements and by extending his career by having role players carry the team further.

See, that's the thing I wonder about. Ata certain point, what's the extra few mil a year except bragging rights. Does it really matter whether you make $25m or $20? Really? If it were me, I'd rather spend more on scary monsters protecting me and my career.

Tom Brady had a long and illustrious career because of a few things:
- He landed in an offense suited to his strengths. Quick reads, timing patterns and the ability to get the ball out fast. When Tom planted his back foot, the ball was coming out. The Buccaneer's offense did not take off, until they changed many of their plays to what Tom had been running in New England.
- He stayed in phenomenal shape, plus he was a big man, which helps with arm strength and the ability to absorb hits. Although...I've always wondered how a man having trouble throwing a fifteen yard out in New England, discovered the fountain of youth for arms in Tampa.
- Tom signed more than one hometown discount contract, leaving enough meat on the bone for an adequate supporting cast. Not stellar at most positions, but adequate.

That’s why I’m thankful to be on a rookie deal with our QB. I don’t think we could have kept a Minkah, TJ Watt, Cam Heyward, Alex Highsmith, etc… while paying Ben…
It already has me concerned about 3 years from now when we will have to pay Pickett, Pickens, Austin, and all the really good rookies… And Watt, Minkah, et al will be due for extensions…

No. He landed in an offense where he was fed the defensive coverages, blitzes, and open zone areas before each and every play.
The difference from worst to first in QB is not that large, and the very biggest difference is how well the QB learns to read the defenses, coverages, and blitzes. That’s the 2nd year jump that everyone looks for in a QB. It’s all about what they see and understand before the ball is snapped. That’s why the the commissioner destroyed the New England tapes and gave them an unprecedented penalty over spygate. It’s also why they were on such thin ice with the commissioner over the last 2 decades. If those tapes were made public they would have destroyed the public confidence in the league for the entire 2000s…

The company has a Fantasy Foozball League. I let the computer pick my team (and will normally let it pick my lineup every week. I don’t really give a rats ass about Fantasy Football). The computer picked Jaylen Hurts and Joe Burrow for my QBs and wants to start Jaylen this week. I might actually override it and start Burrow. He’s going to want to prove something with that contract.

Part of the league is rigged, we know that. Watch what Goodell does to Denver this year. One of two things will happen:
A. Goodell hates Payton so much, he shafts the Broncos.
B. Goodall wants the Walton money so much, a lot of calls go Denver's way. -
Here’s the absurdity… In 2018, Matt Ryan became the highest paid QB in the league at an average of $30 Million per year… 5 years later there are now 4 averaging $50 Million per year, and 8 more over $40 Million. 14 others are on their rookie contracts but will all likely fall into that range over the next 4 years… Talk about wage inflation…

I don’t get the Maholmes love. He’s thrown more incompletions and interception than any other quarterback this season.
