Not the first time in the last couple of months that Taibbi has (ahem) gone off the rez.

I’ve been posting some of his stuff though in fairness it’s about woke ideology exclusively.

Listen to his appearance on Brett Weinstein’s podcast in the last week.

I didn’t have much respect for him when he covered the financial services industry before and during the crisis. Then a few years ago he was on Sam Harris’s podcast and seemed almost reasonable. He admitted to having a single source inside the industry that helped him ‘interpret’ what was going on. Seems like that guy was sort of a Howard Zinn type.

Anyway he surprised me. Before all this I could just as easily envision him in the role of woke inquisitor.

Glenn Greenwald is another who has surprised me with some sanity vis the woke stuff.

        Only non-witches get due process.

Yes, my own tailspin into right wing tribalism over the years coincided with my observation of this pretty obvious fact. The high status true believers on the left are essentially emotional robots with zero self awareness and I have no desire to be associated with them. And if by being a middle of the roader I have to pretend that their worldview is equally valid, then excuse me while I pick a side. Or not.

          Education is extremely important.

I drove around a very nice (nice, not expensive) area in the middle of nowhere over the weekend. It's very cool and I want to go back to do some more exploring. Anyway, almost to a house, there were Trump signs on balconies, in yards and on fences.

Oddly, my first emotional reaction when I saw those signs was, "well, at least here I'd be okay." Which struck me as interesting. Had I passed through that area in 2016, I would have thought, "how can you all be such fucking idiots?"

            Please love yourself.

@Aqua-Letifer I had the same but opposite reaction in my own neighborhood.

Lots of wokery around here. Leftist lawn signs, the whole nine yards.

We were walking after dinner other night - and I turned to my wife and said "we're not black, but do we count as minor celebrities?" (super white neighrbohood)

Her response "I'm very light skinned, so I dunno if it counts"

Then I thought to myself - what a stupid conversation...

Whenever the left gets around to thinking about it, Indian folk will be resented for their appropriation of the skin color badge while exhibiting none of the cultural and political lockstep that's supposed to go along with it. Actually I think I just read an opinion piece on CNN about that very subject, written by a token Indian person who also happens to be a leftist True Believer.
