Don't know about the Yazoo, but the guys fishing the Mississippi with six-foot hoop nets use around a 22-foot aluminum bateaux with a winch. so they're pretty common around Big Muddy or on the Atchafalaya. Then you'd have to winch him out of the boat onto a trailer (or used a tractor with a FEL)
Or they could have shot him, roped him and dragged him to the bank, where they could have winched him on a trailer.

Here's an older guy fishing a three and half foot, 7 hoop net:

Note the winch. Normally, you pull that size by hand. Looks to me like he's just finished his pull and had the net by the tail. You normally pull the front of the net first, but you can do a tail pull (it's easier to lose fish through the flues that way, but you do what you gotta do).
I can't tell exactly what he's caught, but it looks like buffalo.
