The Reasoning Republican Voter

A pretty good piece, as far as it goes which is not nearly far enough.

Yes, good article.
"If voters under Mr. Popkin’s theory are public investors, could Mr. Trump’s high levels of support be akin to an economic bubble like Chinese real estate, bound to deflate? For that to happen, Republican challengers would have to give voters reasons to support them. Merely being youthful clones of Mr. Trump isn’t one."
Agree with this. Saying President Trump is great, but vote for me instead seems kind of weird.
Of the two that are directly attacking him, I dont really know what Gov. Christie stands for other than he is against President Trump. Gov. Hutchinson cant get enough attention to make policy case to the people, though from what (little) I know about his policies, they seem pretty rational.

Those two guys are going nowhere. Hutchinson might not be able to win an election in his home state.

So you’re saying the reasoning Republican voters are the minority, perhaps a very, very small minority?

Hutchinson is a very smart, experienced guy. On paper he'd make a good president. I just don't think he has the charisma to capture the voters' imagination.

“Imagination” and “reasoning” are two different things.
