Time for a shave

He gets matted in his belly, armpits and groin. Every 4-5 months, I take him for a grooming, which involves a good brushing, nail trim, belly shave (if needed) and a "sanitary shave" around the anus. He's pretty clean around the butt, but they do it anyway.

I would guess no. The place where I used to take him (too far, too busy) had to muzzle him for grooming. Yesterday was the 2nd time at a new place, and they had no comment.
However, he does enjoy being brushed - which I do every day. I ask him if he wants to get brushed, and he runs to the kitchen and hops on the counter. Of course, the fact that he gets a treat afterward probably has nothing to do with that....
