Walked out from an interview today

I agree with his reaction.
I am a pretty clam person, but there was a doctor that I had where they were always late. I finally ended up finding another doctor. I did write them a letter explaining my reasons, including the fact that my time is just as valuable as theirs and they wouldn't like it if I was consistently late to appointments.

I had to wait an hour for the vet last week. I figured they were probably busy. Shit happens, even for seniors management positions at box stores.

@Doctor-Phibes I agree that things happen, but it just shows where their priorities are.

Maybe they were interviewing the principal senior sales executive before the senior sales executive and wanted to make sure this key position was filled first.

Entirely different environment. At the vet's, you have to see the vet. There's no one else. In this kind of situation—interview for an upper management position—you're going to meet with at least a handful of people. Pull in someone, anyone. Do that first until the other people are ready.
Shit I've been in that situation before and that's what happened. Further, I've had to bail my boss out in a situation like that at least a handful of times.

"Upper management position"
I'm a bit skeptical about that description.

Well, yeah.
No one in an upper management position calls it "an upper management position," not even in euphemism. -

Presumably you're trying to distract them from the fact that you've got a degree in poetry?

Oh I bring that up as soon as possible. It's a great stress test.

You should show up in a black velvet suit with a carnation in the button hole.
I had an Irish friend who once did that to a works do. Pretty much the entire dinner was spent listening to his wife telling him he needed to return the suit.

You laugh. A guy who lived in my apartment complex who looked like the blond guy in Dukes of Hazard showed up for an interview at my company in a lavender matador style suit. Looked like something Elvis would wear.

Younger people live their lives on the net.
I suspect the story is true. The only question is the level of the job.

I've seen worse happen a couple of times. One was for a VP position.
