When Trump tries to steal an election, it's because he genuinely believes he won, which makes it ok.

      I was only joking

I suppose that’s ultimately why his people are ok with it.

But that just means they never gamed out what things would look like with such a norm.

In such a world elections would be merely opening bids, to be ultimately decided by whichever party controls the right state and judicial machinery.

Georgia is what it comes down to. Can the prosecution provide the evidence that Trump (not co… Trump) illegally interfered.

I’ve read they have recordings of calls between Trump and Rafensberger besides the one the public has heard.

Ok replace with “attempt to overturn an election” and the point still stands.

I don't know - the charges would be different under federal law, one presumes. Do they need a new grand jury? Does a USADA take over? I don't know.

I think it only applies to three of them out of the 18.

So it seems like it’s a federal court trying them under Georgia law. So still a state crime not pardonable by the president.

But maybe a better jury pool for them.

How surrenders work at the troubled Fulton County jail – and why Trump’s will be different

Kind of obvious, but President Trump will not be treated like other criminals.

                              QUOTE
Normally, those taken into custody are thoroughly searched by a jail deputy. In the past, though, some high-profiled defendants who have voluntarily surrendered were not subjected to that thorough body search, a person familiar with the process told CNN.

Defendants also typically undergo a medical screening and receive a pre-trial consultation to determine whether they can sign out on their own recognizance, although it’s not clear whether those same steps would be taken with Trump and other high-profile defendants.

For an average defendant, the booking process can take hours, much of which can be spent waiting around for their turn to be booked.
