An old white dude uses the term "negro".

    Well, there goes the republic...

@Jolly would have been mildly defendable, if he didn’t go on to try and gaslight the guy and claim he never said that.

As for implications for the republic... pretty, pretty minimal, imo.

I really don't care. They call each other nigger and negro all the time. Its either ok or its not. It can't be OK for them and not others.

Hey xenon do you see the Police State arrest him??

Which is more disconcerting to you?

I always found him a distasteful clown and am not surprised by his poor behavior and racist comment.

Yes that was another in a very large collection of incidents if, had it happened at the behest of Trump or just understood to be aligned with his politics, heads on the left would have exploded. The horrible thing is, those are real feelings those imbeciles feel about that sort of thing. They don't see their own hypocrisy because the bedrock of their intellectual lives is that they are on the good side.

The casual racism is less surprising than the stupidity.

@Loki I have zero disconcertment stemming from Stone’s comments.

I found it more of a curiosity that he would saying something so obviously stupid. (As I mentioned in my first post)

              Edit: what he said ^

I remember way back in time...Say, a couple of years ago, when the term "black" was mildly offensive to some negroes, colored people, blacks, African-Americans.

@Copper he coulda said “black guy” and it wouldn’t have changed the substance of his remark much.

Again - he also denied that he said it right afterwards.

I'm still trying to figure out what this whole conversation has to do with the price of rice in China.

I'm guilty of it myself, but the constant parade of minutiae masquerading as news mires the mind.

@Jolly let’s say you’ve been a political operative for decades Jolly.

You’re on CNN one day. And you’re talking with Don Lemon for whatever reason.

And you get in to it.

Then you get kinda exasperated and say “I’m tired of arguing with this black guy”

Wouldn’t that just be an incredibly dumb thing to say? Especially coming from someone in the game his whole life?

That’s it. I found it interesting from that perspective.

It was a very dumb thing to say. And of course the left is happy that he said it, and happy to amplify that he said it.

I wonder if King had a point, somewhat off-subject to this topic.

What would have happened if Lincoln would have given free land to the freed slaves, so they could have had a stake in their future by heading out west? Some undoubtedly did, taking advantage of the land grants, but racism at the time was likely extreme at that point in time.

@Horace I made the thread. I told you what my point was. And I never equated Stone with America or even Trump.

Sure I thought it was a bit topical because Stone is topical.

It’s now more interesting to me how many jimmies have been rustled by a pretty a fairly pedestrian point.

@Horace I made the thread. I told you what my point was. And I never equated Stone with America or even Trump.

I’m sorry but the media made the point and you spread it unintentionally or not and I believe you but people are not just responding to you.
