I just skimmed the beginning of the article.
I’m retired for almost 7 years now, and I remember my OB patients banking cord blood for years before that. I’m surprised at the number that the BBC quotes in the United States is only 3%. In my experience, it seemed much higher.

I worry a little about the community banks. If a child winds up with a genetic disorder, is the community cord blood bank going to be alerted and have the blood disposed of?
