Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

If nothing else, it’s an experiment worth trying in the USA.

          Great idea.

As long as it's possible to transfer credits or the equivalent thereof. Otherwise you're talking four-year indentured servitude.

It's a great idea but plenty of businesses will absolutely abuse the hell out of this any way they can.

          Please love yourself.

Would that be better or worse for those who participate?

Imagine a job—a paid job—that turns into a degree. Applicants apply to the employer. The diploma is conferred by a collaborating university.

This is how I got started at EDS.

The industry needed computer programmers. There were almost no IT college courses at the time.

So EDS trained people who had no experience.

The problem was, the competition was hiring programmers away from EDS as soon as the training ended.

EDS ended up training a lot of the industry.

So they added a loan that would be forgiven if you stayed at EDS for a time, I forget exactly, I think it was a few years. So, the competition continued to hire the programmers away from EDS, and they picked up the tab for paying off the loan.

The good ones stayed at EDS for fame and fortune.

That sounds like the apprentice program in the article.

I think you could transfer credits, but only if you could form a university/business consortium, or a business/business consortium, or a combination of the two.

For example, credits at Wilbert's Widgets are acceptable and transferable to another business or within an accrediting university, such as the University if North Carolina system.
