"Loki. Turn off the TV and take a walk. Pick a nice route with nice trees and a pretty sky and other nice things to look at.
You need dis."
And then you claimed you didn't tell him to talk a walk. Nice.Oh, fuck you, Horace. Show me how "Your post makes me think you need to take a walk" (in quotes, suggesting it was a direct quote from me) in any way resembles "Loki. Turn off the TV," etc.
Apparently you require things to be clarified to an exquisitely painful degree, so here goes. YES, I told him to take a walk, although the context made it more of a suggestion than some kind of order, meaning that I felt he would benefit from a break. For someone who so obviously prides himself on his vast intelligence, I'd think you'd have picked up on that.
Do not again presume to call me a liar.
I'll call you one if you plan on holding onto your "I did not say 'take a walk " after literally telling someone word for word to " turn off the TV and take a walk".

My favorite part is where she cropped her quote. This is her gem of a sentence, after adding those cropped words:
Show me how "Your post makes me think you need to take a walk" (in quotes, suggesting it was a direct quote from me) in any way resembles "Loki. Turn off the TV and take a walk," etc.
There is power in crazy. It is to be respected and given wide berth.

Let it go, guys

Yeah, Phibes. Rainman is right, you should give your relentless attacks a rest. This forum is for measured, mature discussion of the issues - not your personal stomping grounds.
Rainman, thanks for your support. In the absence of support from Ax, who tends to withhold judgment in these scuffles, it is nice to hear from those who care about the little people.
-
Hey, I'm glad both of you guys have supporters!

Ok... this was an exercise in how someone can say something, and someone else can take it out of context, then give it a new meaning that has nothing to do with the original intent. That's how I looked at it, and I'm sure Horace saw it too.
This is exactly how Trump bashers come up with 99.9% of the shit they throw at Trump. Now Cats knows what it feels like to have ones words taken out of context and then getting smeared with the new meaning, and how Trump supporters feel when they see it being done.
This same shit gets done almost daily here to Trump, and I am certain it's not because those doing it aren't smart enough to know better. So let's examine it:
Cats told someone (paraphrasing) they needed to get off the internet, take a walk". It was quite obvious that her intention was to convey a concern that the person needed to de- stress a bit, and "take a walk" was meant as a suggestion as to how he might relax a bit. That intent was obvious. BUT - she DID say "take a walk", and it's not for sure that Horace restated it with a new and negative meaning. What IS for sure is that Cats thought he did, and instead of clarifying her intent, she jumped Horace's ass. His natural reaction was to bite back.
This is how you Trump bashers do every time you say something about Trump or one of his supporters. An example: just today one of you Trump bashers took Gohmert's comment about how touching his mask might be how he caught the virus. You twisted his words to make it appear that he was, as you think of us, another knuckle dragging Trump supporter who thinks masks don't work. And the thing is, the person who did it is far too intelligent to even believe that. The person KNEW better. He knew that what the man said was that he might have gotten the virus on his hands and then transferred it to his mask because he had had to remove the mask several times. A perfectly logical, perfectly innocent comment twisted around for the purpose of taking a shit on the man, on Trump, and on everyone who supports Trump.
You TDS sufferers are past being ridiculous with this shit, and this incident shows you what it's like to have it done to you.
Now - somebody make me a damn sammich.
-
Silly me, I thought you two were just being assholes.

Good post, Larry. You gave a great assessment.
That's why I come here. I don't agree with everyone, which is why everyone comes here. Great place to hear different perspectives, and occasionally to discuss those perspectives.
The fights go nowhere, ever. -

Id like to kick the ass of whoever set up the spellchecker on this forum. And dont even try to tell me it doesnt have one because this is the only place ive ever typed stuff into and watched as it replaced correctly spelled words with a completely different word. I have to go back 2 or 3 times to fix things in every single post i make thats longer than 2 sentences.
Now... where's my sammich!?!?!?

I reckon it was Klaus. What you're describing is basically the German language.

You mean like in the Merchant of Venice?

@Horace said in Police State:
I mean like in Seven.
I think that borrowed from the Merchant of Venice - the pound of flesh idea was pinched
