Dowd says this undercuts his sincere empathy that has underlined his term? No, that’s undercut by his not wanting his kids in “a racial jungle”, his closeness to Byrd, the way he used to refer to his elder black staff member as boy, his vehement opposition to gay marriage, and so much more. Let’s not pretend for a minute that Biden is an altruistic and empathetic man.
