A big deal?

The question is whether foreign funds were used to shape US policy.
As far as Biden goes, he bragged about getting the prosecutor investigating his son fired. He threatened to withhold a US loan. Son of a bitch!

Pretty sure foreign funds are being used to shape US policy every day, just not necessarily by US nationals.

Really? Where did you get those from?
[whataboutism] Threatening to withhold US loan? Even if that happened, betcha it’s not as egregious as https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-whistleblower/white-house-acknowledges-strings-attached-in-trump-withholding-ukraine-aid-idUSKBN1WW1BG [/whataboutism]

He was impeached for that wasn't he? How'd that work out?

Maybe not quite the same, but Jared Kushner was able to get the Saudi Arabia to put USD$2B into his private equity fund, something he had never really been involved with.
Why would the Saudi decide to invest so much money in such an unknown fund? Could it be that he is the son in law of President Trump?
Good, and often-repeated, points.
Why didn't the Democrats investigate? They had years to do so.
I may not agree with it, but is there something to investigate or is it really a crime to use connections to further yourself? The Saudi could say that they saw a good business opportunity and decided to take a risk. They may however say that with a "wink" in their eye. LOL
Connections and using those connections happen all the time. Son of Actor X gets a role in a movie. Surprise!!! Son in law of President gets big investment into his new fund. Surprise!! Son of President gets a seat on the board of a foreign company. Surprise!!! Daughter of big donor to a college gets accepted to that same college. Surprise!!

George brought up a very salient point. With all the Dem fury to nail anything Trump to a wall, why wasn't Jared investigated? Could it possibly be there was actual business being transacted?

I agree. That is why I said that there probably wasn't even a crime committed. Same that I am not sure if a crime was committed when President Biden's son was appointed to the board of that company.
While it could be argued that Jared Kushner case was more realistically true, I think that we both know that neither situation would have happened if those two guys (Jared and Hunter) were not related to a President of the US.
If you or I went to the Saudi and said, "Hey, my background is in real estate, but I am starting up this private equity fund, which I really dont have any background in. Would you be interested in putting USD$2B into the fund?" What do you think the response would be?
Same with Hunter Biden. If you or I went to a Ukraine gas firm and said, "Hey, I dont have any background in this, but I think it would be a good idea if I were on your board of directors." I would get laughed at, assuming I even got an appointment.

The bag was found in the library.
If so, that's in the East Wing, where the family lives.
As I said, rehab until after the election...

That was the original story. However, it's been amended to say it was in a highly
traffickedtraveled location - a cubby where people put their phones. -
