Here we're having three kinds of sausages (brats, beer brats and chorizo), brioche buns (I take mine naked - I'd rather have two sausages than a bun) homemade macaroni salad, potato chips and local pilsners.

Ice cream or ice cold watermelon for dessert.

sounds great. I like the idea of watermelon and blueberries.

Consider also adding chopped mint leaves if you mix blueberries with watermelon. I forgot to mention mint leaves in my previous post.

Also great idea. I have lots of mint growing. My herbs this year are doing really well.

Mint nearly took over our flower garden. I wish basil was so easy to grow.

Today I made couscous in a sausage cream sauce with dill and lemon and zucchini. Too much salt. My fault.

Fried chicken, hot apple pie with chocolate chip ice cream, and probably some other food.

I know chocolate chip is kind of non-traditional, but I think it is a nice change sometimes.

It’s harder to not have mint become a garden nuisance than it is to grow it…

I would be tempted to toss some balsamic glaze and feta into that watermelon, blueberry, and mint mix…

It’s just me and the Finster this afternoon/evening so hotdogs and an Italian sausage for dad (hot), potato salad, corn, and a tomato/cucumber salad. Strawberry shortcake for desert.

After we get back from fireworks and Fin’s asleep, I have a glass of rye and a Monte Cristo lined up.
