President Trump has no awareness of his actions beyond how they personally help him. He is so blinded by his ego and, what is the word, narcissist, that it really does fog up his decision making.
-
"The left is so horrible, he had no choice but to hawk beans from the Oval Office"
"The left complains no matter what he does, so he might as well sell canned goods from the Resolute desk"
I've said it before, but one of the worst aspects of Trumpism is to watch his supporters continuously debase themselves by by coming to his defense.
-
I think Trump’s symbiotic relationship is with the people he trolls into reflexively calling him a narcissist etc as much as it is with his base. That said, I think his trolling of pop culture is less and less politically viable. But he is aware that he is trolling a large segment of the country with those sorts of pictures.
-
I figured the photo was simply an acknowledgement of what the word 'trump' is slang for in proper (i.e. British) English.
I also figured his supporters would find excuses for this totally ludicrous behaviour.

I also figure I don't care if you like it or not. I thought it was a wonderful poke in the cancel culture eye.
At the same time, I can't really foresee any situation in which you'd think he made a major mistake, about anything.

OK, that photo shows up on Trump's own instagram account, so unless it was hacked it seems to be real indeed.
What. The. Fuck.
The CEO of Goya didn't obey the Left. He dared to say something positive about Trump. The Left demanded he take back his positive comments about Trump and apologize for defending Trump or they would boycott his products. The CEO told them in so many words to kiss his ass, and the Left launched all out war against the man. But it backfired. Goat's sales went through the roof, and Trump is throwing it in the Left's face.
I think it's hilarious. It makes the Lefty's little heads implode.
Amen.
Ditto. Let them fume.

That picture with the cans is genius, pure genius.
Einstein is genius.
Beethoven is genius.
I know Americans love to
defilemess with the English language, but you really need to find a different word. He's posing with some beans, not redefining how we think of gravity or writing a 9th symphony. -

Please tell me how Trump having his picture taken with a can of beans harmed you in any way.
-
That is a silly way to see it. Especially since the ver motivation for him taking the picture in the first place was to poke his finger in the eye of a bunch of idiots who were doing exactly what you just accused him of. Except they weren't offering free publicity, they were threatening to destroy his company.
Nope. Your answer doesn't work.
-
Let's just praise Jesus that he didn't wear a tan suit for the photo-op.
-
This is just a trial balloon. Look for him to start doing 3am infomercials hawking his steaks and Chinese ties.

This isn't Britain, no one over here wears tan suits...
I think you may be forgetting the major constitutional crisis of the last presidency.

Also, of course, this....
