Dead raccoons, chipmunks, mice and birds in the heating ducts aren’t enough, no. Tonight, just as we’re getting ready to go out, Luna trots up the stairs with another chipmunk. Then let’s it go and of course it is outta here

We went out to dinner with friends, hoping to find a car as upon our return. Noooooo, it can’t be that easy. Hope they catch it overnight.

      LOL.

Another reason to keep cats indoors.

What we can't figure out is how the damn thing got in. Both cats were peering down into the sump pump yesterday, so maybe that way.

          Would be my guess...

I’ll be checking the window well weepers and put some rodent mesh over the sump inlet.

The story continues. The beast was sitting in the window sill, with Luna on the speaker RIGHT next to it. Not 4 inches apart. Luna did not attack, and eventually got bored because it wasn't moving. We thought it might be dead, so I got a box and approach. Nope, not dead, and off they go again!

That's an amazing and cute picture!
Isn't it in a cat's nature to play and torture a mouse or small plaything animal, and then when it's almost dead, give it to you as a gift?

Yeah. This poor thing's going to die of thirst before these two yahoo cats get it. I've got traps coming tomorrow that are safe to use with the cats around.

I repeated our strategy of leaving the door to the garage slightly open and driving it that way. Pretty sure we got him out. Cats are pissed that we eliminated their entertainment.

As if that weren't enough, something has been crapping in an overhang by our deck door. This afternoon we found out what it is. Fuck.

                          What's the plan?

Perhaps put up a bat house nearby to attract the guy?

I’ve wanted a bat house for ages but my bride does not approve.

Bats are the best. They eat insects and avoid humans.

We had tons of bats living in the vicinity of the pond at the cheddarshack. At dusk, you could see hundreds (thousands?) of flying things above the pond. At first we thought they were birds...
