There must be other families in the school that this is happening to. I would band together and bombard the principal with requests for letters of recommendation. The kids shouldn't have to suffer just because the teachers are unhappy.

You want to be considered a professional, act like a professional.

I've written many recommendation letters over the years. I suspect many of you have written more than I have. All I ever received for doing so, was "Thank you".

        It's all I ever expected.

          Fucked up indeed.

          Only non-witches get due process.

I find the ritual for “letter of recommendation” for college admissions rather superfluous. Between the high school transcripts, standardized test scores, and the applications including essays, there is more than enough information to make admission decisions. The “letter of recommendation” ritual is rigged such that you typically get only the good, one-sided story anyway. It’s more an administrative hassle and more excuses to make subjective decisions than anything else.

That said, if it’s a widely accepted ritual, then the show must go on. Bring out the boilerplate templates and AI generated letters and just crank them out.

You have no idea what you are talking about in this case. Truly. In a highly selective school the letter of recommendation is life or death.

What a petulant piece of garbage. The teacher, that is.

Sure, there are always the edge cases, in the above I just wrote about the vast majority, say, the middle two sigmas, of the cases.

In the case of a state school with rolling admissions they only look at GPA and SAT anyway and don’t have time to read but of course many kids always include a reach school in their 15 or so applications.

The teacher's not doing herself any favours acting like this. If they want to protest the decision, they need to protest the decision by refusing to do things that are related to the Covid situation, not refusing to do completely unrelated things. This is a great way to lose the support of the public.

                      I was only joking
