Hey man, do you do this?
Meatball is very weird about water. When the kiddo's taking a bath or the shower's running, he hears it from anywhere in the house and insists to be in the bathroom.
But once he's there, it's not like he wants to be closer or anything. He just stands right by the tub or shower. Afterwards, he doesn't lick the tub or roll around in it, but he does stand in it. Just stands there.
Sometimes, when we're using the spare bathroom to soak the kiddo's clothes to pre-wash them, he runs into the bathroom, like here, and hopes we turn on the water. He'd never stay there if we did, but he would stand in there afterward.
I heard Maine Coons like water but I so don't get this.

Mostly they're indifferent.
Maine Coons, however, are known for being "hydrophilic" if you will.
