    Good riddance.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-65863267

Boris Johnson is to step down as an MP with immediate effect after receiving the Partygate report. That report by the MP-led Privileges Committee looked into whether he misled Parliament over lockdown-breaking parties at Downing Street. Mr Johnson accused the Commons inquiry of attempting to "drive me out". n a statement he said: "They have still not produced a shred of evidence that I knowingly or recklessly misled the Commons." In evidence given to the committee in March, Mr Johnson admitted misleading Parliament, but denied doing it on purpose.

It’s really a shame that his sense of “born to the manner” entitlement brought down a man who could very well have been the statesman of our uncertain times.

      But you’re right, good riddance.

      Elbows up!

He had enough respect for the nation to resign when it became clear continuing would be bad for all. Or I presume that was it, anyway.

Too bad he didn’t have enough respect to abide by the rules he imposed on everyone else.

No, I don't think that was it at all. He was forced out of the PM position. He's resigned as an MP because his own party has abandoned him. He left saying that he'd been stitched up and forced out by a kangaroo court, in his words.

It's also fairly clear that he has little interest in serving as a humble member of parliament.

It's not really the party that's the problem, although of course that sweater alone is bad enough. It's lying to Parliament about it, then lying about lying about it, and then finally lying about lying about lying about it, and then saying the committee was a kangaroo court, despite it having four Conservatives out of a total membership of 7.

Oh, and now he's broken another rule by taking a job writing for....wait for it....The Daily Mail! He was supposed to get permission from the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments , and never applied to it. This sort of thing isn't for the likes of him, obviously.

Lying sack of shit is actually a little charitable.
