Missouri vs. Biden
-
Today's oral argument in Missouri v. Biden proved what we've known all along: the Biden Administration has shamelessly and relentlessly coerced and colluded with social media platforms to censor free speech,
Some highlights from the hearing:
Biden’s lawyer seriously insinuated COVID caused a lot in the world to change, and thus, government censorship is permissible.
Biden's lawyer also said that Americans have not been harmed by the vast censorship enterprise emanating from the Biden White House.
Every American who has had a post removed or deplatformed would beg to differ.
Biden's lawyer asserted that they have never once threatened social media companies into censoring free speech.
He must be suffering from memory loss. Here's a recap:
Joe Biden told reporters that "Facebook is killing people" because they originally refused to silence truthful information about the COVID vaccine.
Jen Psaki spouted from the WH podium that social media companies would lose their Section 230 immunity if they didn't work with the feds to remove disfavored speech.White House Digital Director Rob Flaherty told Twitter that “if your product is appending misinformation to our tweets that seems like a pretty fundamental issue”
Flaherty used the F-word to convey his disgust to social media companies that Biden's Instagram account wasn't gaining followers after Meta's algorithm identified it as a spreader of vaccine misinformation.
Can't make this up.
Quickly after these interactions, the social media companies' resistance to censor quickly crumbled.
Back to highlights of the hearing.
One of the judges noted that the exchanges between the feds and the social media companies include "veiled and not-so-veiled threats" as the government "strongarms" the tech companies into censoring speech.
Another judge called out Biden's lawyer, noting that "You talk about these meetings [between the feds and social media companies] as if they're friendly."
The judge also pointed out that when the federal government says jump, social media companies merely say "how high", seemingly due to the immense pressure to censor Americans' speech.
The same judge then asked Biden's lawyer if hypothetically, it matters if the federal government knowingly censors true speech if it disagrees with the government's narrative (i.e. COVID-19).
The government unabashedly said, "No."
Today's hearing was further proof that Joe Biden has zero respect for the Constitution.
But Missouri is fighting back. He will not get away with this blatant First Amendment violation.
Stay tuned.

Does nobody else find this orders of magnitude worse than anything Trump has been accused of?

Those of us with a strong visceral appreciation for free speech, probably do. Which is to say, TDS sufferers won't. I figure a true appreciation for free speech dulls the edges of whatever else one may find dreadful about the orange guy, and may provide natural immunity to TDS.

There is no mountain too high or no ocean too deep, to encompass all of the Trump hate. It doesn't matter what anybody in power does, it will never be as bad as something Trump might have said.
It's an idea that is pursued relentlessly by most of the media. It drives the TDS sufferers, mild to severe. One day, some nutjob will try to kill Trump, molded and emboldened by the never -ending background noise of Trump, Trump Trump...
Bongino states he still has many contacts within the Secret Service. He said that his contacts tell him, there are so many threats against Trump, the Secret Service does not have the manpower to investigate them all, so they triage and sort the threats, investigating only the most severe and credible.
Many think Trump deserves this. Why? Because Trump.

Well, what's the right ratio, though? Are we supposed to be 2.34 times as outraged?
Trump and Biden both got elected by "anything but THAT" voting, which is how you get half the country celebrating elected officials who brag about sexual assault, and then 4 years later, the other half celebrating censorship and surveillance on levels the Stasi would find envious.
Demonize things enough and you'll be excited to see Charlie Manson in the White House as long as he says he's properly pro/con/whatever on beer marketing.
