I would program the AI to allow the operator to live.
That might make the AI a loser, but there should be some limits.

Apparently the USAF are now denying this ever happened.
USAF denies attack ever took place
"We've never run that experiment, nor would we need to in order to realise that this is a plausible outcome," Col Hamilton later clarified in a statement to the Royal Aeronautical Society.
He added that it was a "thought experiment" rather than anything which had actually taken place.

It was a Doctor Who joke, because of how he dresses. The joke had nothing to do with politics at all. See the Dalek? That's a thing from Doctor Who. See his clothes? They look like something out of Doctor Who, too.
