It's sad when this stuff excites voters. Not because it's such a terrible idea, but because it's pretty nearly impossible.

That's open to debate. Personal experience - I've seen more than a few anchor babies born.

    it's pretty nearly impossible.

Without either SCOTUS or a Constitutional change, you're right.

Reasonable people can disagree on the merits or lack thereof. But the folks who support it and would argue that it was written for a different time are the same ones who argue that the time doesn't matter on the Second Amendment. Those who oppose it would argue exactly the opposite.

There is a debt to be paid for Birthright Citizenship.

Figure out how to collect it.

Which he couldn't do on day 1200, let alone day 1.

Maybe not on Day 1, but you could have it on the floor in the first few weeks. After which, it's up to the states.

I agree that it would be a good idea to end, but also agree that it won't happen easily.

Wish they would end it in this country. All it would take is an act of Parliament amending the existing citizenship law.

                  No fuss, no muss.

                  Elbows up!

Fertility rate is well below replacement rate in the USA and in Canada.
Let them come deposit the babies here and we keep the babies.
                    We need the new blood.

Let's put them all on your street. How about a couple or ten nice high-rise housing projects?
