Akshually, Allen & Wright go back to 1919, with a root-beer stand.

The first restaurant opened in 1923.

I loved their burgers, by the way.

The float was very "meh" but I mean, c'mon, you gotta stop and get one. You just gotta.

        Please love yourself.

You are way too young to remember when A&W was worth remembering…Back in the late 70’s and early 80’s their root beer floats (served in huge glass mugs) were about the best thing in the world. HFCS has ruined both the root beer and the ice cream…

And yes, George is correct, their Burgers were very good… No Winky’s, but still good.

But the root beer was awesome. We used to stop there in the early 60's on road trips.

Weren't no such thing. You smoked anywhere you wanted...Unless you had to send your kid to the vending machine to buy some more cigarettes.

Far enough back, yeah. But around here, you can still find plenty of restaurants that still have the dividers.

I grew up with those, too.
