      I agree. I think it's the best TV documentary on WW2. Olivier's somber tones give it something, and the source material used is great, as is the music and pretty much everything else. It used to be on every Sunday night when I was a student, but it was the 2nd or third time it was shown by that point. I can still hear the theme tune now.

        I have the series on Blu-ray. Many of the main players are there on the screen. As a Canuck it’s hard to listen to Mountbatten justify Dieppe. Likewise, the interview with the unrepentant Otto Remer is nothing short of bloodcurdling.

        An excellent historical document in film.
