        By certain economic measures that’s true. But I wonder about relative status as compared to one’s culture. That’s more to the point if considering life satisfaction, I suppose.

        I always look sideways at notions that certain countries have people who live on 5 cents a day etc. it’s a near meaningless comparison.

        Education is extremely important.

          Some economists have estimated the value of 40 acres and a mule for those 40,000 freed slaves to be worth a staggering $640 billion today.

          They shouldn't have sold.
