Covid wealth transfer

I’d say they started the 5g conspiracy as a diversion but In reality on some level Covid accelerated the shift from the industrial to the networked/digital age.
Small businesses crop up like weeds. Prolly many of the same people. That statement is not so profound.
And the twatter is more heat than light.

If nothing else this points to the "economic numbers" not indicating a whole lot about the pain a country is experiencing. I note that because of the magic Sweden economy which is indistinguishable by the numbers from countries that locked down. I suspect numbers regarding small businesses might show a greater difference. Since they weren't locked down and all.
Not to put a human face on this. I know the only human faces that matter are those who die from COVID (maybe we can get another anecdote, I am running low on the Anecdotium which fuels my psyche). The people who's businesses and financial futures have died are irrelevant. I know because I have yet to hear any anecdotes about them.

You don't hear of any here, because we've yet to hear any kind of cockamamie horseshit about how there's no actual economic downturn due to the virus, that businesses closing is all a big hoax, and that the stories about closing businesses is all a false flag operation to get us to sell our souls to Jeff Bezos.

I was reading an article about post COVID, the only restaurants around will be chain restaurants. Independent bars/restaurants will have gone out of business.
(Now, the article did not say 100% will be gone, but basically that the trend would be in that direction.)
I agree short term that will be the case, but US people are pretty good entrepreneurs
and there will always be people interested in starting their own restaurant/bar business.Regardless of COVID, isn't something like that happening with the UK pub scene @Doctor-Phibes The number of indenpendent pubs has been decreasing a lot?

British pubs have been in a bit of a death spiral for a while now. Breweries used to own the majority of pubs, but that changed, and there are a ton going out of business. Presumably Covid will accelerate the process greatly.
